Thomas KolbDear friends, thank you for your interest. I am a bit curious myself how this model will turn out - I have read some pretty nasty things about it in reviews, but I am not sure it's so bad. It certainly looks very intricately designed, not your usual shake 'n' bake kit for sure.

That is not really a WIP album yet, but I made an experiment on a left over Pfalz wing to reach to look of the colored profile painted again by Ronny Bar:
Primed gray, added Semi Matt Aluminium, masked and painted two crosses.
The dark red at the front will be a different story ...
Then I tried different highly thinned blue paints. H322 was not bad, but do not cover the black cross, or only with very much paint. But I'm happy after adding a drop of light gray to the paint mix.

Weathering n panel lines need more learning.
The IAR-80 was decent price from HB and liked the paint scheme...bit different

They said to paint interior charcoal black like on the FW-190.
But l checked n the Romanian lAR interior was grey/blue.
Engine building next 6 parts deal.

@Maciej it's not AOTAKE but Interior Bronze Green. By doing the research I noticed they were painted in various green shades, IBB being one of the common ones. PM me for photos if interested,

Miguel VaqueroHey MrD thanks! Well Im sorry I can't help you with that because I used the photo etched and plastic instrumentation provided by the kit from Eduard. Sure someone with more experience with Tamiya decals can help you with that in here.

Miguel VaqueroI use cyanoacrylate for the PE parts, just a little amount sticks okay, although at this scale there's some parts that are way to hard to make them stick and my not so skilled application of the glue leaves a lot of residue on the model. I try to clean up the best I can but it's quite challenging sometimes
If you want to build a good looking cockpit with the extra detail I recommend you the PE for sure. But if your main goal is the exterior and not to focus so much on the interior the PE kit doesn't include a lot of things for the exterior, and the tamiya kit I think gives a really nice looking base cockpit

Q: Do you have any tips for cleaning up the paint work around window frames, or working with clear parts when painting around them?

Maksim Kurmaz@Treehugger There are no special magic about clear parts. As I don't use any additional coatings a-la Futura and use only water-based varnishes and paints, I can easily clean clear parts from paint with a toothpick because smooth parts do not hold paint very much. Also, masks are helpful but only from kabuki paper, everything else don't hold on curved surfaces.
