Thank you mates! - Olivier and Jean-Michel, I found the reference picture in the booklet "Sword in the sand - U.S. marines in the gulf war" by Tony Engelhart & Pat Foran (Concord Publications Company).

Bull´s-eye-hit. Incredible. Insane camo painting on the uniforms. Stunning photography. You hit the nail on the head again.

Agree with hiveloc. That desert camo pattern is so very well done. I'm thinking of the hours spent on this figure alone, not to mention the rest of the masterpiece.

Thanks a lot Mr James, also for the many kind likes. Much appreciated from you. - The American uniform desert camouflage of the 90s was a challenge, but modeller friendly. With the new digital camouflage patterns however I cannot cope. Some trial and error, but no satisfying result yet.

Maybe this technique might work:
Uniform base coat. Then application of the various colors that make up the rest of the pattern with a very stiff brush (cheapest bristle brush) that is dipped perpendicular into a very shallow puddle of color. Stipple off as much color so that you are left with individual dots from each bristle. Then tap the figure.
I used this method for my scale 1:72 canadian soldiers and was quite happy with the overall effect.

I have to agree with the other comments; this is a great collection. The details of each aircraft provided just enough history to keep me reading each photo. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all once again for your kind comments. We are looking for a new home for this special collection, preferably a museum with a connection to WW2 military history or aviation history. We are already in contact with a small number of museums in the UK but talks are at a very early stage. This would be a straight donation with no strings attached an we would arrange delivery within Europe including the UK but we would need sponsorship for a transport to the US. Any networking connections are more than welcome.

What a collection. They must look really impressive all together.
Have you reached out to
IWM Duxford - iwm.org.uk/visits/iwm-duxford
Thorpe Abbotts - 100bgmus.org.uk/
They might be able to help in some way to house the collection.
All the best.

This is a beautiful kit cast in immaculate resin with nice photoetch parts.
Thank you Snake Models for this special one.
Below I list a few things that caught my attention during the build. Maybe it will make assembly of the model even more enjoyable for others.
Kit and instructions contain some mistakes, some omissions and some queer stuff.
- Parts 7d and 13c were missing in my kit
- the wheels (part 1) actually consist of three parts
- part 6D is already cast onto the engine
- part 23 actually consist of two parts
- the exact location of the PE parts in step A is unclear
- in step A you need three pieces of PE2. The fret gives you alltogether 8 pieces designated PE2. Point is only: two of them have different shapes. Those two resemble the ones in the drawing. Only that the drawing is wrong. You need three of the six with the short lever. Then it works.
- some PE parts are labeled "L" and "R" in the instructions. There is no corresponding lettering on the fret.
- two PE parts designated 43 have different dimensions.
- in step B four PE pieces are labeled PE25 although two have different shapes
- PE31 is not labeled on the fret
- right side gear. PE57 exists in two shapes.
- there are no designated positions for quite a lot of the PE discs, although I feel, they are needed.
- Part 61 is redundant.
For Decals No 5 (two different shapes under the same number), 8, 9 and 10 no locations are indicated in the instructions. Neither did I see any of them in my references on the real vehicle .

Thank you very much Gorby & Christopher! 🙏
@Christopher: Welcome back to the BEST HOBBY in the world! 😁 The greys are AK Real Colors RC252 Light Ghost Grey and RC251 Dark Ghost Grey. Those colours worked for me. The instructions although said I should use Medium Grey for the darker tone (which would be RC249), but that tone was too dark for me. Maybe another brand's Medium Grey is not that dark!
Best regards!!!
