Mirko RömerIf Hobby Boss will release the announced Leopard 2A6 CAN, I might consider buidling such an umbrella! But for god's sake this will take much longer than Hobby Boss claims! 🙂

Mirko RömerBlack base colour, some lighted AK Australian green. Needs even more lightening... The installation of the tracks was quite fiddly but finally it looks much better than the oob ones.

Greg BakerI did find it online, but was a little disappointed with the quality. It required a lot (and will need more) work to be able to print it. I mainly have to increase the thickness of the rear trunk area. The strange overhang roof in the rear needs to be sturdier as well.

Greg BakerThe second printing went much better. I made a mistake though, I forgot to add the support to both sides of the rear roof struts. Luckily one side seems to be strong enough to hold everything, and with a little paint I don't think the thin part will be visible.

Greg BakerGood timing. After a bit of a summer break spent watching football, olympics, and playing video games with my son... I just started back at the modelling desk. After clearing up a couple of other, smaller, Tintin-related projects, I'm almost ready to tackle this one again.

Greg BakerWith the Hawker Hart off the bench and on the shelf… I guess it's time to tackle this one again. Getting the colour right was tricky. I finally settled on a 10:5:1 ratio of Tamiya XF-2 White, X-14 Sky Blue and XF-18 Medium Blue. Not perfect, but close enough I think.

Greg BakerThanks Cuajete. It might be a LITTLE bit darker than I was going for, but close enough for me. It looked lighter in the airbrush cup, but I suspect the darker undercoat is at play here.

Greg BakerGot the windows in place. I used an old iPhone screen protector plastic cut to fit. For the interior windows I glued it them in place with some very small dabs of CA glue and then a brush of Future. However, for the open doors, I used the thinner "peel off plastic" that's supposed to keep the iPhone protector nice and clear until it's applied. Then I dipped them in Future and applied them directly to the doors. Let's hope there's enough adhesion once the Future dries. It SHOULD work, since I did the same thing on my Tintin Model T project for the windscreen. But that was flat… these have a bit of a curve to them.

Greg BakerI just realized that I've been looking at the colour scheme from the album - specifically the scene that takes place at night where Professor Calculus is taken down the stairs and dump unceremoniously into the front seat of the Citron Ami 6 by a rogue wheelchair, blasting the doctor out the passenger door in the process. However... since it takes place at night, the colouring is different (i.e. darker) than it should be in the light of day. Now I feel like I screwed up the paint job!

Mirko RömerThanks Simon, I'm working on it 😀The tires are pretty good, but needed some work to make them fit. Probably it might be easier on the Academy kit. The ones provided by Trumpeter looked quite small and thin.

Duster_d@Transall NG, my father just got caught up in a wave of "Messerization" in the 1990s. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a flood of articles about the Luftwaffe flooded into Russia, which was like an ideological distraction. Many people dreamed of Messerschmitt and Focke-Wulf aircraft, considering them the best while simultaneously criticizing Soviet aircraft. Perhaps this was successful because in Soviet times, the qualities of German and Allied aircraft were underplayed, and there was little information about them available.
