Unboxing... ready to rock!
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/0/1/3/1597013-71874-85-720.jpg)
And we're off! First task is to remove the barrel to make way for the PE barrel.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/0/0/9/1597009-71874-18-720.jpg)
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/0/1/2/1597012-71874-37-720.jpg)
Needed to chock up this piece behind the barrel so it aligned correctly.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/0/1/1/1597011-71874-66-720.jpg)
Need to bevel this out so it will sit properly. Also had to reshape the end where the barrel connects as the plastic didn't have the full barrel.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/0/1/0/1597010-71874-30-720.jpg)
Will need to glue the barrel in place. Not sure whether to do that before or after painting the plastic.

Going to attempt to put more detail into this...

Not as good as I'd hoped, but I'm happy enough. May not even end up using this piece.

My paint arrived yesterday. Need to decant the rattlecan and let it degass.

35 should be the design year and 36 is the diameter to length ratio of the barrel

I think I chipped away too much. Wasn't intending on it looking this weathered.

@Martin Oostrom: the barrel length is 45 calibres, so it's an L/45 gun (and note that this is by the German way of measuring this: breech to muzzle, not the length of the actual barrel itself). The proper designation, to the best of my knowledge, is 3,7-cm-PaK 36, without the "35/" in there. The gun was designated the "3,7-cm-Tankabwehrkanone" before 1 July 1936, when it was officially renamed "3,7-cm-Panzerabwehrkanone".

Jakko, I don't know enough about this thing to stand my ground, so you could be right.
Peter, It looks very well to me.
