MonteX canopy mask & Quinta Studio 3D cockpit decals
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/0/7/7/1653077-134637-71-720.jpg)
Purchased this from a garage sale. The decals were all cracked. I sprayed 2-3 coats of Tamiya Gloss Coat on the decal sheet. Hopefully they will come off without breaking apart. Will need to consider a back up if that happens.

Close up picture of the Quinta Studio 3D cockpit decals. Side Note: Since the decal sheet that came with the kit is cracked, I will test if the gloss coating trick worked by using the cockpit panel decal from the cracked sheet. Regardless will use the 3D panel from this sheet.

Needed to sand down the details on the instrument panel and some sections of the side panels for the 3D decals to properly fix in place.

Interior almost complete, added the tamiya brown panel liner. These are the 3D decals. Have not made an attempt to use the cracked decals that came with the kit.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/3/2/5/1663325-134637-20-720.jpg)
Kit only came with one canopy (Closed). Given the details in the cockpit, will need to make my first attempt to cut up the canopy into 3 parts. Will use a hot knife blade in my first attempt (more to come...).

Not too shabby..some rough edges and lines.. but manageable.

![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/7/5/4/1664754-134637-97-720.jpg)
Tried to do a camo pattern and messed it up. So i sprayed the whole top with the XF-11 and since the bottom coat of silver was gloss coated, I was able to create weathering/scratches on the top for wear and tear.

Decal Sheet Update: Well looks like it didn't work...the gloss coat actually sticks the decal to the sheet so the warm water is not separating it for application. Options (a) Buy another decal from ebay, or (b) use leftover decals from other Japanese planes.

Question for Members: In picture #12, what are your thoughts on the two-tone propeller cone (red/white)? I saw a picture of a Me190 with a dual colors (yellow/black). What are your thoughts ... was playing off the Japanese flag colors. The model will be all silver with a dark Japanese green/olive camo over spray on the top of the plane. Leave it in two-tone or color it to brown to match the props?

I'm sorry about the decals; that is a shame. I will leave the two-tone versus brown decision to some of the more serious and accuracy-focused mates on this site.

Indeed. I did find on eBay a replacement decal sheet that I have ordered. Should have it in about a weeks time.
