I ordered Friul tracks, but recieved the wrong set and decided to just go for the kit tracks. They weren't too bad once you got a rythm going, and add the "dog bone" connectors once the main links are glued solid.

That's good to know Kai as I do have this kit. I was hoping you would finish the kit as it has been built up so well.
What tracks did you order?

I ordered the correct Friulmodel set, with one removed guide tooth. But I recieved ordinary Tiger II tracks. It would be too costly to return them, so I just accepted it.
It's almost done, pretty much just final assembly and blending the weathering. I just need to get off my ass and do it. I keep getting distracted.

Friul should have paid for return postage - mail man would collect from your home. Oh well, you can still use them if/when you have a King Tiger
There are some great new tracks out there now for future reference - here is a 2 part review should you wish to check out on YT;

I have a few Jagdtigers and Tiger IIs, so they'll come in handy down the line. Currently I'm building an Academy Tiger I as a supposedly OOB build, but I've already gone far off course with it and made it more complex with new tracks, cupola, all tools, entire lower hull tub etc.

Don't worry about it! Wherever your art takes you! Same thing happens to me. I'm building a nice little AZ Bf109 with a few scratch build mods. I will post in due time. Also an old classic Tamiya Panther A (c.1970) with a a good few things scratch mod. This year has been my practice year after many decades out. Next year I hope to be able to build more contemporary kits. Can't wait!
PS I will post an old Tamiya Panzerjager IV I did early this year

I did an Italeri (reboxed by Revell) Panther A last year. So much work!
I'd love to see that old Tamiya Jagdpanzer IV, they can clean up nicely.

You are right - the classic Tamiya have a certain charm and strangely the box art, sturdy box and instructions all add to it. But as you say the oldies need more work

Album info
Dragon Porsche Jagdtiger with zimmerit. I misplaced some parts, project on hold until I find them again.
Was a fun project, much more fun than the Takom JTs.
