D-Day build
Some progress. Prop done, yellow identification strip done.
Final use of AK 3G Just gave the Tiffie' a general coat overall of the main colour's. The ALM Masks worked well first time using vinyl masks there was some lift but not much that it caused any problems.
Some touching up to do and some happy little happenstances that will go into the weathering which will be with various oils and washes.
Had to do surgery to the rails so I can get the D-Day stripes on. Slaps forehead and exclaims DOH!
Decaling finished, even the stencils. Now to reattach the rails and good to go for the next stage.
Rails and Rockets attached, VMS Semi-Gloss applied. Further weathering to come.
Airfix 1.72 Scale Hawker Typhoon Mk1b. Completed.
I have weathered the aircraft to represent a machine flying successive sorties in support of the D-Day Landings and the subsequent eighty five days of the Battle for Normandy.
This is the aircraft of Wing Co. Charles Green. No. 121 Wing, R.A.F. Lower Holmsley South, Hampshire England and B.5 Le Fresne-Camilly, Lower Normandy, France 1944.
The Tiffy, scourge of German Armour..
