The upside of spending so much time on the internet is, you can come up with thousands of intterseting ideas and inspriation... the downside... it´s hard to get anything done😉
But the kit is falling together quite nicely, almost like a real Tamiya. No flash, no clean up, but sharp and crisp moulding... guess it´s the best kit I´ve started this year...

Can you assemble them correctly? I tried once finally thought it was better to buy white-metal tracks

Haven´t tried the tracks yet... maybe tonight...
Yesterday things got bloddy (no only because the new scalpel found it´s way in my thumb twice...)
On reference pics I noticed cracks and some fragmented armor, a bit late but not too late... some cutting, sawing, scapelling, heating and bending later at least a simmilar effect was created...

I´ve done a test on a few links... it´s like expected. they can be put together workable without too much problems (just a bit time consuming...), but the plastic is way too soft and thinn to stay workable till the´re finally attached... so I guess I´ll end up glueing them together

Hi Hunter, basicially you got the same kit, apart from a few details... looking forward to your ideas on it 😉

Wasn´t too productive yesterday, but started the work on the signs.

It seems the tank was located on Smolensks main traffic hub, which you can "visit" thanks to Streetview: maps.google.com/maps..10161b5377,ploshchad'
Things have changed (I guess the tracks aswell), but you´ll get the general idea of the location...

A real beauty, I need to add this to my wishlist.
These tracks are really great, I used them on my ISU. You can also apply a bit glue at the bolts, the tracks will stay flexible. Also without glue I figured out that the bolts easily fall off. I still find some on the floor of my man´s cave (yes, I did not clean up for a while now) or in my shoes...
The trick is to not to cut the bolt from the sprue. You can see a little rill on each sprue, behind the bolt. Cut it there and plug the bolts in together with the sprue. Later you cut off the sprue, it´s much easier that way.

@William: I´ve saved a lot of funny, insprational, interresting and unusal pictures in the last years... If I need new ideas I just have to got though and take what I like.😉
With the "new" picture search on goolge (were you can upload you pic and if finds pages were it´s also used) it´s a whole lot easier.
And I was lucky to find the compilation (link in the description)... so not too much work from my side😉

@Matthias: the kit is really great.
the problem with the tracks is, they´re quite small (about 7mm), so everything is a bit thinner and weaker... this causes some failures (in my test on a bit less than 20% of the links) which you have to glue then... cutting of the sprues while ready assembled can cause some more failures, so I ended up just twisting them off.... which is faster anyway...
All in all this system is not a bad idea, but it works bettter when the tracks are bigger...

Ah yes of course, that's for sure more tricky on the small links than on the ISU tracks.

Album info

This is my contribution to the GB, inspired by some photos I will build a destroyed T-26 on which german troops piled tons of signs.
The kit includes all you´ll need and dream of, PE, workable traks and quite interresting decal options (spanish civil war)...
The traks a the usual Trumpeter/Hobbyboss worklbla system... not shure if it really wors as is should, but I guess we´ll see...
