I have always thought that the Lancaster fuselage would make a great basis for a conversion into a
motorhome / bus / coach wheeled transport vehicle of some kind 🙂
I'd have the wing roots converted into windows with pull out awnings above them that were curved like the top side of the wing and install four electric jacks so it could lift up like Thunderbird 2 for the bomb bay doors to open and a mini garage drops & opens up with a couple of slim line convertible sports cars with fold down windscreens tucked away inside it, and seeing as this is my fantasy they might as well be amphibious cars 😄
The only trouble with a Lancaster fuselage is that it's quite narrow for a motorhome at only five and a half feet wide externally, perhaps a wide bodied replica might be the more pragmatic way to go, and maybe reduce the length from seventy feet to under fifty perhaps 😄
Anyhow, I quite fancy this kit so I'm interested to how this pans out too,
...... loving the scratch building so far !! 🙂
