Really nice and interesting work, quite refreshing! How did you make the wood pattern surfaces?

Very interesting. I'd also be curious to know more about the wood pattern! 🙂

Hi Guys,
The woodgrain were painted using a photoetched stencil, made and sold by Radu Brizan (www.radubstore.com).
The idea is to paint a clear "tan" acrylic layer, and afterwards, a second layer of "wood" acrylic layer, using the stencil. When everything was dry, i'sprayed a coat of Brown ink, to uniformise the color and lower the contrast.
Thanks for your comments.

Another fantastic looking model Didier. Really like the wood effect, and really impressed you did it yourself!

Original idea with the two different sides! I did know of the existance of the Radu Brian etchings but couldn't imagine that it would yield such a nice result

For me, one of the best models I've seen on this site so far. I like the idea of the split between constructed and finished but that wood had me thinking it was decal similar to that available for the Ho-229. Excellent work.
