I ended up with three PzI command tanks. I bought the Italeri first, for the rusty tank diorama where I wanted a cheap, small kit. Then I saw the Dragon one at a price I couldn't pass up. The MB kit was the first time I ever saw a PzI Ausf. A command tank, plus there was an intriguing sticker on the box: "Bonus Dragon tracks and PE". I couldn't pass that one up either, so here we are.
Upon opening the boxes, I was pleasantly surprised. Dragon threw in the standard sprue full of spare wheels, the Italeri box had a set of link to link tracks inside (manufacturer not labelled), but the Master Box was the most surprising of all. Inside was a whole bag of goodies marked Dragon USA, including four sprues of track links (these might be Dragon, but they're not Magic Tracks) and suspension bits, and a huge photo etch fret, much bigger than the one that came with the original kit (that one is still included in the box and only includes the muffler meshes). Looks like I'll be able to beef up both of the "weaker" kits with superior Dragon components! Stay tuned!

Hi Ensign, looks as if you have made already some progress. Just some comments from my side. The Dragon shows the first or second production typ. I only know three-colour-schema Reichswehr vehicles with this antenna arrangement. The Italerie is in its configuration (extra armour on the front, storage box on the rear and the air inlets a tropical version. Maybe the Dragon has some spare parts to make it a European, if you want. The masterbox is a nice one too, but I will build mine with a chassis from Tristar as I prefer their level of detail. Enjoy your build and let us see how it looks in the end. You can find some good pictures in the Tankograd Wehrmacht Special No 4009.

reisender.ab Oh, I already did a gray painting scheme that I am very happy with 🙁 I should have known better than to trust the manual with colour schemes.

Hi Ensign, maybe someone knows how the few vehicles, which received the antenna frame, where used later. If they have been upgraded to actual standard in the later years, they may have removed the frame antenna.

I'm really bad at incremental updates, it turns out. Anway, here is an in progress shot. I haven't added a flat coat on top, but it looks pretty good without it. Thoughts?
