I am using Polystyrene for as much as possible. For the 'nuts and bolts' on the scratch-built fuel pipes and fittings I am using .022" (.559mm) diameter solder - i drill a .23" hole into the polystyrene part and then feed the solder through to the desired 'nut/bolt' height and set with superglue. The details on the instrument / equipment module are made form poly bits, solder (either bare or painted with Testors Randome Tan to look like insulated cables), and sprue slices.
