There is still some PE left in the bag, but I'm happy with what is on now.

I added some styrene sheet to close the hull. Next will be some putty and sanding and a base coat.

I used XF-58 over XF-1 for the base color. details are painted with X-10, XF-56 and XF-59. The brown used for the handles of the machine gun is model master brown leather (I think.. I've re-bottled it.) Gloss coat is Super Clear III GX100 from Mr.Color.

The little Sherman is finished! 🙂

I used Mig's Airfield dust pigment for the dirt as it was the only one I have 😉.

Weathering was a mix of Tamiya panel liners, oil washes, oil paint and acrylic paint for the chipping and rust effect.

Final matt coat to seal everything in is Vallejo Matt Acrylic Varnish.

The decals are a bit thick as you can see on this photo, but when looking at it in real life it doesn't show that well. Front lights are Tamiya X-22 over X-11.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/7/9/496579-34174-86-720.jpg)
The radio antenna is a piece of stretched sprue.

The PE parts really enhanced the detail of the kit. Especially the machine gun.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/5/7/3/496573-34174-56-720.jpg)
I used 5 strands of 0.25mm copper wire that I twisted for the tow cable. The fasteners are part of the PE kit.

Rear light is Tamiya X-27 over X-11.

I'm back after a wonderful weekend at Duxford and Fairford to continue the build of the Sherman. I'm taking my time with this as it is my first tank. I hope I got all of the PE right.. I don't know what half of it is for. Guess I will have to do some research 😉.

Todays work, I've laid down the base color and put on the decals and a protective gloss coat. Next will be the fun part, weathering! 😉.

Thank you James! 🙂
The little tank is now finished, and I really enjoyed this build. A nice break from building planes 😉.
