Can anyone help me identify the floatplane in these pages? I think it's a fictional amalgamation, but I'm opening it up to the academy for their learned opinion... I also threw in two tanks which should be easy for someone who knows something about them... unlike me.

Man, that's a doozie. That back stepped window screams Cessna, but the radial engine...

Say, perhaps... someone married the top of a Cessna 172 to... a T-6 Texan... hypothetically, of course...

the only thing puzzling me so far with all mentioned types is the rather pronounced backwindow behind the wings... so still searching

-- unrelated - The yellow one is Kenmore Air, which runs out of Lake Union in Seattle, WA... Lived in Seattle for 5 years, always fun watching these guys land and take off. I kind of miss the busyness of the city, but I still live nearby. It's always fun to see something that is local to you, ya know?

It's a mish-mash. The radial engine and prop suggests Beaver but the wing shape, fuselage shape and well, everything else just is not a Beaver 😄 There's a chance it's SUPPOSED to be a Beaver... but I expect the artist just came up with 'something'.

That's what I suspected, but I'm not confident in my ability to accurately discount the possibility that it exists... 😄

I've seen wings like that recently - problem is I've been thru hundreds of Ukrainian, Russian and Italian magazines this month - It's bugging me - I've definitely seen those wings

well... I just happen to have a leftover top half of a cabin and elevated wing from a 1/144 Cessna 172 and a leftover (and slightly used) T-6 Texan. A few floats and I think I can make it look passably similar.

the wings will need to be extended to match the manga as the Cessna 172 doesn't match [img1]

I'm doing entirely too much searching for floatplanes on Google. Apparently I'm going to have to build a few now. 😛

Can anyone help me identify the float plane in these manga pages? It looks a bit like a DHC Beaver to me, but I suspect it's simply a fictional amalgamation. I just wanted to be sure, so I'm opening up the request to the academy.
