Douglas Bader's Hurricane Mk.1
Probably one of the best Airfix mouldings I've had the pleasure to work on in a very long time
Probably the worse colours purporting to be WW2 RAF greens and browns I've had the displeasure to use .. don't get what AMMO mig are thinking here!
A bit of masking for the gun ports .. going for the after mission look, with the covers blown off!
Lovely decals to complete the Douglas Bader look
Decals applied, almost done ..
I may have overdone the weathering, but I think I was compensating for the AMMO mig colour scheme!
The finished article, with the mini Douglas Bader added, exiting the Hurricane after a dogfight to remember .. just look at that gun smoke staining !
Douglas Bader exiting the Hurricane after a dogfight to remember .. just look at that gun smoke staining !
Douglas Bader on a temporary airfield, exiting the Hurricane after another dogfight to remember .. again, just look at that gun smoke staining !
Final shot .. installed the aerial wire too.
