The driver's office is very spacious in this kit and the driver himself is way undersized IMHO.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/8/3/7/973837-13641-75-720.jpg)
I had to thin down the ridiculous inlet lip.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/3/6/973836-13641-34-720.jpg)
Lovely rudder features (only this side luckily)
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/8/3/9/973839-13641-75-720.jpg)
The canopy is surprisingly clear 40 something years after production 🙂
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/3/9/3/974393-13641-44-720.jpg)
Another bunch of lovely sinkmarks. But I have to admit they are designed to show up on the undersides.

Plasticart kits make very rewarding quickbuilds 😉

First priming
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/1/7/9/977179-13641-33-720.jpg)
One of the blobs simulating the cannons was damaged, so I had to replace it.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/1/8/0/977180-13641-87-720.jpg)
Old Revell Contacta needle turned out to be quite helpful.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/1/8/1/977181-13641-77-720.jpg)
Cannons replaced.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/1/8/2/977182-13641-25-720.jpg)
Another unique feature: on the port side there are sinkmarks caused by the cockipt floor.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/0/0/7/981007-13641-90-720.jpg)
Almost the Black Boar 😉

Back in silver, and with decals.

Following! Is there a rescribe in the plans or are you leaving the panel lines as they are?

Going to retain as much as I can. Don't want to correct this classic kit😉

Welcome everyone. This is really nice quickbuild if you're strong enough to stick to OOB. The styrene is quite unusual, as it needs more time than todays kits to cure once treated with SP penetrating glue.

Bienvenido! 🙂 Had to replace the cannon blobs as one of them was broken. And couldn't refrain myself from using a metal pin as a pitot.
No more detailing, I promise 😄

I had this model on my bookshelf when I was a kid (built by my father, of course) - I was so excited that the canopy is openable🙂 Keep my fingers crossed for you.

I never reached this stage, until getting the kit last year 😄 Had to wait a little bit longer 😄
Thanks

Thanks and welcome.
Todays update - finished spraying, most of the details and panels are brush painted (in steel, RLM76 and FS14108).
Added the decals too, coming from SBLiM-2 set (MiG-15UTI).
Went for #06, as the #22 depicted on the boxart was the BKL version actually. I know the kit's accuracy is purely accidential, but I tried to keep the painting as realistic as I could.

Thanks, I'm enjoying it too 🙂 The paints are listed on the project page, but the main colour is the SM Fine Silver by Gunze.

I guess that is the old VEB Plastikart that got a new life here ? It brings back memories of a trip to Berlin in 1978 , where I bought this one (in East-Berlin)

Many thanks everyone, it was very enjoyable quickbuild and I really wonder why I haven't built it earlier 😉 Glad to see I'm not the only admired of DDR kits.

Oh sorry... I was thinking of some kind of acronym in English related to the old kits. Of course I know what East Germany was 😄 👍

Some older kids will say Double Data Rate RAM, but this is not the place for that 😉
