The fit isn't perfect but for a Azur Frrom kit it's fantastic 😆

Starting to look like a Martin now, unfortunately for the WH-2 version you have to cut away the external light on the wing to make an internal light. No internal detail is included either so I will add some "little lenses" to make it look nicer

Hi Eric, not only are the captions English but there is a chapter by chapter summary in English in the back of the book. Thank you for showing me where to order it. So many pictures I've not seen before of ML-KNIL aircraft. Do you know of any reference for MLD aircraft that served in the East Indies?

Great to see the book has arrived! It is definitely the Bible of ML-KNIL aircraft for modellers. Unfortunately, to my knowledge there is no book of the same quality for the MLD only. There is a predecessor of the ML-KNIL book which covers about all military aircraft of the Netherlands in terms of colours and markings. It is also largely by the same author. However, this one was already published in 1997 and has become a rare book, and if it is for sale somewhere it is for a lot of money. I got this back as Christmas gift in 1997 from my parents when I was a 16 year old 🙂
Book: Camouflage en kentekens (by J.H.N. Greuter, M.T.A. Schep, L.H. Boerman, J.M. Bossong)

Also, Geromy publications has some nice books on MLD Catalinas, Mariners and the Fall of Java but those are more history books on the subject and does not discuss the colours etc.

Thanks Hanno and Alec! No, I first applied a grey base coat, it is directly over that. Not ideal for yellow they say. I mixed it 1/1 with thinner and sprayed 7 thin layers, works fine for me.

Puh. Some cliffs to steer away from. Good job on this shortrun kit. I always lay a white foundation when spraying yellow. Saves you a lit of color and makes the yelliw brighter. Looking forward to more progress.

I have this old picture of a line up of about forty B10 (Dutch) bombers just arrived in Java. Just don't know how to post it here.

Thanks for the comments mates!! Next time I will use a white base!
Sprayed the true blue today, unfortunately the masking tape affected the yellow a bit.

Thanks mates, so much fun to build this kit. Not really my scale but since it's not available as injection kit in 48th this have to do 🙂. And, in fact, I like it!

I've missed this somehow. Great job on a kit that is clearly not for the fainthearted. Love the colourfull sheme you chose to paint.

Looking forward to seeing the final pics. These colours made me wonder why the Swedes haven't bought this plane 😉
