Austrian Sikorsky S-70 - KFOR - DONE
I tried to keep interior simple - not much will be seen from outside as all doors will be closed at this model.
I put only little efforts into the cabin details,....
The resin part that I need to fit onto the chopper as the Revell exhausts to not even come close to the original.
A lot of carving is needed to get the parts in place.
And another round of extent milling is neccesary as the resin parts do have lids/FOD covers on all openings.
Exhaust opened....
Tape instead of glue - until I get a feeling that everything is in order & place.
..a few weeks later 🙂 ....
...now with glue & all the needed the add-ons from scratch and after market (thx to BrentAir Decals - for support and 3D prints).
When I put on the tiers (for no special reason) I figured out for the first time that the bird was standing out like beeing on stilts. I compared it to the Hasegawa kit and really - the Revell one looks quite dorky. Unfortunally the kits landing gear is shown fully unweighted and extended. OMG - Why didn't I recongized this way earlier?
Again some surgery.
The new - shortened - legs in the front. In the back the still unweighted landing gear.
Same on the tail wheel.
Not 100% perfect but way better that before. The nose is down and the hole thing looks more sturdy now.
And almost forgotten to add - this one was foreseen to have a winch - scratching around from the sparesbox.
After pimer application I added some mottling as usual. This time I tried to not only work with white but also with some yellow, red and blue to give more accentuation.
The hawks nest. The birds waiting for the paint booth.......
coming closer to an end.....dark green as a top coat
Goss clear applied for decals application,....
first few decals in place,....
After matting the chopper I started to de-mask all the windows - surprise - tons of sanding debris found a way into the cockpit and where sticking to the panes. Concrats to myself 🙁
I decided to open the lower LH front window and to remove as much as possible via compressed air and small pieces of wipes.

Finally - waiting for last details and rotors..

Switched the kit's once more - the former kit to make the EUFOR turned into my MedEvac version.

As mentioned in picture 16 - it took a while but now even this bird (Blackhawk number 3 in my personal group build) is ready for paint application. i will continue to assemble #4, before I bring them as a pack to the paint booth.

Figured out late that the Revell kit comes with fully extended (unweighted) landing gear. Makes the bird looking quite dorky and looking like on stilts. Again some surgery on this one (and the other 2 on the workbench) to shorten the legs. After this it is still quite high but it looks way more sturdy than before.

Very nice 👍 You have two weeks to get it ready, but please don't rush the last mile!

thx Spanjaard & Bughunter. Your advice is more than valid - There is s certain pressure in the back of my head, but I will try to keep the pace down.

Turned out great. I wasn't aware that Austria operates Blackhawks and that there are Blackhawks with the "horizontal" exhaust cooler. Very intressing. 👍👍👍

Great that you have taken outdoor shots! Especially with this real light, you could easily forget the small scale of this model 👍

Thank you Stefan & Bernd for your feedback and appreciation.
Michael - thank you for your nice comment, After EUFOR & KFOR markings are "DONE" now, it will need 2 more photoshootings to complete the "family collection" with a MedEvac and an "armed"- version. They will be presented soon. Check it out 😉
Thanks Neuling. 👍
