Thank you very much!
To be honest: I forgot to mention, that I couldn't take a propper picture of the enginebay. The hood it self is able to pop open but I missed to thin out the front edge of the hood. So it stucks when I lift it up. It opens only just 1cm 🙁

Got this kit today now I know why it was cheap I dident know it was a curbside
I will just put a Ford engine in it and paint it red
I got a spare one of them
Or use a cheap tamiya skyline kit as a donor

Pay attention to this little writings on the box "Showroom Replica". That means, that they are curbside kits. On this, I'm not sure, where it is written.

Also has pics of sprues on the bottom of the box
80 parts for 2 models very low parts
count
But you do get a poster in the kit

Or anything by AMT marked " Craftsman Plus" series, is also a curbside kit.

Thanky for your comments 🙂
@jv .. I totally ignored your "engine ideas" - on purpose 😉 Those 30-45 pieces kit are fun to built. Just right to have a quick result. I like them from time to time.

Your welcome yes your right
I was very desapointed whed a few kits I got from the shop
And paid full price for
Atleast I got this one second hand but still sealed box
So all good
Got it cheap did no investigation into it
So looking it up after getting home whed it yesterday
I came across your build
And thought I would tease you a bit cos I know you know lots about kits and always like things to be right
And also the corvette guy here
Hence the comment about putting Ford or Nissan engines in it
Ha ha just for a bit of fun
Hope you won't hold it against me

😄 I was reading it twice with the engine idea. Funny for real.
I don't get the point, why a showroom replica costs that much money.

I haven't opened it up yet the box is a bit bigger then a normal amt kit and has a bit of weight to it
So I am seprised it only has 80 parts in it
The price it sold for is still on the box
Yes for what it is I think it was definitely much to expensive
For what I paid which is half of what it cost new
I think its good value
And ha ha funny you had to read it twice
And happy you see the funny side
I had a feeling you would not like a corvette whed a engine swap like that

If you really like comments, put a VW Beetle engine in and call it a Porsche

I'm really open for crazy ideas 😉 In my mind, there is a Hot Rod based on the power plant of the C6 Corvette since years.
Or with a I4 Honda engine.
Or a Beetle with an WW2 Airplane engine. Or.....

Craziest thing I ever saw in real life was a VW with an Oldsmobile 455 in it.

Yes, the hard way 😄
There is no full kit of the C6 convertible. Only snap kits (Revell) or this show room replica (AMT). None has an engine nor a detailed undercarriage. That is, what I wanted: details 😄 and an engine to show. So I had to go through all this. Especially when I found out, that both kits have the same dimensions and shape and could be combined easily *lol*.
The Revell kit (as coupe!) is a full kit and a pretty good kt, which I'd buy immediately at any time and really enjoy to build. I only can recommend this kit. AMT has only show room replicas. Coupe or convertible.
But both producer have one in common: the convertible is a "fast build" I'll say.

Album info
Thisis a kitbashing. I only had the "showroom replica" by AMT. It could be fine only to put it in the shelf when it's done. But I didn't want to miss to show an engine or the detailed undercarriage when there is a need to.
I figured out that the proportions of the AMT is exactly fitting to the good Revell kit. I got a donor kit of Revell where the body was painted yellow by hand :/ The rest of the kit was untouched.
What I did:
Took the body of the AMT kit, cut out the right hole for the engine compartment and put all the Revell parts under the body. That's the result 🙂
