TFW after a few hours of fiddling with PE I realize I've only got to "Step #2".

The cockpit detail in impressive, especially for this scale

Test fitting.. Blown away by the detail - this is "out of the box", Arma-style.

There's just enough room in the nose for 5g of ballast. Turned out to be more than enough - this is definitely no longer a tail-sitter.

Barely any seams needing attention

Ready for the spray booth

I decided to try masking using silicon therapy putty (Spencer Pollard's influence). Worked great, though starts to flow after a while in our weather.

Lovely little jet trainer, and a lovely camo scheme.

Thanks mates. I didn't know anything about the Iskra until building this kit. It has lovely lines a feels poised to leap forward. I wonder if it was as nimble in practice as it looks?

No wonder, Paul! Iskras were used only by Polish Air Force and India Air Force - the winner of the competition for Warsaw Pact trainer plane was Aero L-29 Delfin:

Until the present year Iskras were performing in the Polish Air Force aerobatic team "White and Red Iskras:

As far as I know there are few Iskras taking part in the Reno Air Races, still 😉 For example:

Fantastic photos, thanks Robert. I think I need to put another Iskra back on my wishlist so I can have a shot at doing the red and white aerobatic team colours!
