4 cannon clipped wing spit
Only some wires are added. This isnt easy to build and is also not very accurate. But it does the job and this is my first try At something like this.
More wires added to the cockpit.
Happy with the cockpit.
Some filler needed.
Filling some Sink marks on the prop blades.
Masking the cockpit before painting.
Black primer for most part.
First try at invasion stripes.
Masking these stripes Isn't easy.
Pre shading completed.
Flanker light grey vallejo for the underside.
The dark grey is masked with blue tag. Lets see how its going.
Looking alright.
Not perfect. But not to bad for a first try. I really need to measure the stripes correctly next time. And the white application also needs some work.
I'm really happy with the chipping. I used liquid mask applied with a sponge.
Still alot of work to do.
Decals are applied.
Ammo dark night wash or the upper and underside of the plane.
Started with some of the airfield pieces.
Some more pieces are ready
Landing light are simply painted with silver and transparent green and red.
Prop and wheels are ready for weathering.
Oil paint weathering. I'm really happy with the oil streaks.
The spinner is also finish.
The invasion stripes are faded and weathered with multiple oil paints.
Engine fitted. This was one of the hardest parts to fit I have ever done. I dont recomment this kit of you want to display the engine. The construction is hard and de detail is not even good.
And the main part of this kit is done. The airfield figures and other thinks will come later maybe. More pictures will also follow.

VincentThanks Andy and Phil. And yes a clipped wing spit looks a bit different form the normal wings. It also leaves some more space on the shelf🙂

This kit provides a lot of options to make almost every version of the Spitfire mk-IX. I Will make a 4 cannon Spitfire with open Merlin engine and clipped wings. This Will also be my first real camo scheme with the air brush.
