With these pictures I begin the article on the first Ju 290, the one that was transferred from Germany to the USA in the summer of 1945. I take the liberty of showing the mixed US and German crew like this: Pilot and his Copilot as Americans wearing US suits. I would like to show this Ju 290 in flight, on a very special display.....
I find the story behind this particular Ju 290 "Alles Kaputt" fascinating!

Absolutely - nice job on the pilots!
I need to paint some figures in the near future for my Blackhawk Medevac Project in the same scale and I am already axious now and in fear to screw it.
Will you tell us more about the "Alles Kaputt" story during the build?

Ronald, another giant? Superb! I'll be watching with interest. And I'm going to steal that idea. I'll start with the figures.

I am pleased about your interest, thank you for these encouraging wods!
Exactly Jürgen, I am still digging out the background and contexts, but I will be happy to share them with you. It is precisely the fact that this story is clear in its main features but still holds secrets in its finer branchings that makes the work on the project exciting!

Your figures painting is spot on. Warhammer crowd is going to want to commission you to paint their miniatures.

Assembly went well with both examples; however, Revell attaches great importance to details and thus does not skimp on parts.... So you have to allow some time for this, despite all the accuracy of fit and quality of the parts.

I'm in - love these huge Junkers! My favourite would be the "Spanish" Lufhansa aircraft :-;

Thomas, I had to do a quick research- and the result is really interesting and good looking! Oh yes, I understand this suggestion!

This is going to be quite a monster, even in 72nd scale. What wingspan does it have Ronald?

Thank you Peter! A good 60 by 40 centimetres must be planned.... yes a giant!

Slowly but steadily the giants are growing: all clear parts are masked and except for the foremost nose cupola also attached.....
