1:48 Hasegawa F-18A Hornet VFA-15 Valions

Many thanks mate!
Unfo it's gonna take a while... Apart from being a slow builder, I have a torn biceps arm tendon (not from scale modelling 🙂 ) and was operated a few days ago.
Just for info, Aires cockpit and landing gear bays are on, fuselage, wings (ofc with all hanging down) in place and I started priming. Then I had this accident with my hand...
I'll try to post some photos in the next days.
Ouch! Hope you feel better soon! tendons take a long time to heal - so no heavy weights for you for the foreseeable future. Fortunately, 1/48nscale kits aren't that heavy - so maybe they can make that part of your physical therapy for recovery! 😀

A few notes about this project:
Back in June 1992, the Greek "Modelling" magazine featured the Hasegawa P24 kit, which had been released fairly recently. I don't recall the name of the builder but I remember myself, a teenager at that time, admiring the photos for many months.
- The scale was out of the question for me then; I could only accommodate 1:72 scale in my room.
- The price of the kit at that time was out of the question for me; I would have to save for about a year just to buy it. Let alone paints, etc. Apart from Verliden, there were no after market sets available then, or at least I was not aware of them. Of course, at that time I wouldn't even know what to do with a resin cockpit or a photo-etched fret 🙂
- The guy who built the model used techniques which were unknown to me at that time! Weathering was a term I did not know 🙂
I recently came across this kit on sale from a mate in this forum! I also found a decent collection of resin and PE detail sets.
So, building this kit is like a dream come true 🙂 I shall use Aires resin for the cockpit, landing gear and jet exhausts. I shall use Eduard PE sets. My intention is to use the kit's decals for VFA-15 Valions, although they are a bit yellowish... I feel that, if applied over a gloss surface, with the assistance of setters, the decals should be ok...
Let's see how it goes... In any case, I feel young again 🙂 🙂
