PZL-Mielec An-2TP "Colt" of the Hungarian Air Force, carrying a fictitious camouflage and serial number 7615.
The An-2 was popular with civilian operators in Hungary, for crop-dusting, sport parachuting, even for domestic passenger transport. So what if the Hungarian Air Force used the type in large numbers, and these survived well into the 2000s as in other Warsaw Pact countries (plus ex-Yugoslav states and Albania)? My guess is the way I'm going paint the model: a two-tone camouflage similar to that carried by military helicopters and trainers since the eighties.
The Hungarian Air Force actually operated An-2s, but only two Soviet-produced examples during 1956-1957 (in 1957 both received civilian registrations, and were sold to Germany during the eighties). There are two other An-2s in Hungary that are preserved in military markings, but these were both civilian aircraft, and they were given fake code numbers.
When choosing the serial numbering 'system', I derived it from the aircraft's construction number, as it was with MiG-21s and helicopters serving with the Hungarian Air Force. I picked An-2 1G76-15, which actually served in Hungary from 1993, carrying the registration HA-ABS. Before this, she served with Aeroflot between 1966 and 1993, registered CCCP-09681.
