You got me already mouthwatering! Too bad I have to wait until you reach 181...

Michael Phillips
Welcome Patrick! Yes, this one is a long way off... but I might juggle which subject I do as I go. So I may swap one F-14 project with another one and so on.

Nice to see a Vark, even though not in my fav scale 🙂
23 January 2018, 19:47
Spanjaard
no chance of giving this a bit more priority than 181?😉
24 January 2018, 21:51
Michael Phillips
Welcome Lukasz and Spanjaard! Yeah, love the Varks schemes, on both the Tomcat and Phantom. There is definitely a chance this could move up the queue, it ultimately could replace any of the F-14A projects on my project list. Now, which one do I swap with???? That is the tough question!

Patrick Hagelstein
What are the options?
25 January 2018, 04:16
Michael Phillips
OK, here are my options, in order as they appear in my queue:

#61 Tamiya In-Flight VF-84 Jolly Rogers markings from "The Final Countdown"
#73 Eduard (Hobby Boss) VF-111 Sundowners Hi-Viz
#85 Hasegawa VF-84 1991 Desert Storm Homecoming (black/white markings)
#97 Hasegawa VF-1 Wolfpack 1976 Early Block F-14A
#121 Tamiya Iranian Blue Camo
#145 Hasegawa VF-33 Starfighters Hi-Viz
#157 Hasegawa VF-84 Lo-Viz 1986
#169 Hasegawa VF-103 Sluggers Lo-Viz 1986

I can't decide! Maybe the Iranian one, since I have already built one Iranian Tomcat?

I've got a really good solution to your dilemma, DO IT NEXT!!!!😄😄😄

I'll use my last 1/48 Hasegawa F-14D to do the "TOMATO" from VF-101.

Heck..... Think I'm going to do her anyway just for the hell of it.😢
25 January 2018, 05:15
Spanjaard
do them all at the same time 🙂 , hard, very hard to decide.....
maybe the low viz ones. But not the iranians or the finall countdown😉 those should go up too 😄 😄

I'd say switch it with #73, which is a Hobby Boss with the wrong camber on the intakes. Also you could do the two Tamiyas in parallel to save you time in painting the common subassemblies.

Patrick Hagelstein
I like Maciej's proposal.

easy, toss em all up into the air - you'll know which one to build before they all give in to gravity!

Hmm, all very good ideas! The Hobby Boss/Eduard kit I bought not long after I got into the hobby, I wasnt aware of the issues at the time... but I will still build it, just maybe I will push it down a bit... But as far as doing two Tamiya Toms at once, not sure I can pull that off...

It all comes down to this, I have so many projects I can't wait to build! I think that is why I build so fast. I want to get them all done while I am still above dirt!

I know the feeling, LOL. I vote the VF-1. My next Cat will be a VF-2 Bounty Hunters.

Michael Hickey
Well Michael, I'm blaming you for showing me the Ardvarks Cat because now I've got out 4 1/48 Hasegawa Cats & a couple of Bugs. They've all had some work done to them in one way or another so what better reason to go and get stuck into all 6 of them and get them built at once. I still have my EE Lightning that I started to decal late last year, if I can get all those finished by the end of the year I'll be a happy camper.😄 There's no way I can keep up to your building pace but if I concentrate, maybe.😢
25 January 2018, 23:07
Spanjaard
just build what you feel like 🙂 but build 😄
25 January 2018, 23:50
Łukasz Gliński
Just check what project has the longest comment list😉

I'll take a seat here too!

Nice Clifford, I am a big fan of VF-2 as well. When the AMK F-14D comes out, I most definitely will do one in Bounty Hunters markings!

Michael, I will take that blame! I would love to see if you can keep up with me once I get back into it... maybe we can push each other to do more!

Spanjaard, I totally agree. I will push through the Blackhawk, then it will be a Legacy Hornet, a Viggen, and a ZM F-4S. So got some cool stuff coming up!

Lukasz, I hear ya man. There is definitely a lot of interest in the Varks! I am going to fit it in sooner than later for sure.

Welcome Konrad, sit right up front!
27 January 2018, 02:28
Spanjaard
i love your builds, and if you do a Viggen or the ZM F-4s you can count me in from day one 🙂
27 January 2018, 10:04
Michael Hickey
Sounds like a good thing there Michael, but for now these are some of the F-14's I've built.

mikestomcat

I've still got to put up a couple that I haven't made projects for yet.
27 January 2018, 15:21
Michael Phillips
Thanks Spanjaard! Stay tuned, they are coming...

Michael, your builds are fantastic. I remember seeing your VF-84 build right when I first got started in modelling and found it very inspirational.
30 January 2018, 03:30
Michael Hickey
Thanks Michael, I'm really happy that my builds encourage other modelers.🙂
30 January 2018, 10:08
Clifford Keesler
Yea you both are masters, maybe someday I will get up to your level. I want a ZM F-4 bad, but it is going to be hard to convince the better half to let me spend 75.00 on a 1/48 kit.
31 January 2018, 01:51
Patrick Hagelstein
Tell her it has all the detail of a 1/32 kit, that'll convince her!
31 January 2018, 04:38
Konrad -
That is not a bad idea 😉
31 January 2018, 05:31
Michael Hickey
You no what my other half says about buying one of those ZM Rhino's, "Build the over 30+ 1/48 Hasegawa ones first you haven't touched yet."
31 January 2018, 09:20
Michael Hickey
Thanks for the nice words mate, you know what they say, "Make your next build that little bit better than your last build." Besides Cliffy you build pretty good, so don't think of yourself that bad.👍
31 January 2018, 09:23
Spanjaard
@michael, mine simply would say build all the models you already have before getting any new one. Not particularizing models or brands 😛
31 January 2018, 13:51
Spanjaard
And she is actually right 😛
31 January 2018, 13:52
Patrick Hagelstein
🙂
31 January 2018, 14:25
Maciej Bellos
My better half's ultimatum was "build 5 and then you get to buy one"! She was dead serious. That didn't stop me from getting a MiG-21... To my defence, since the "ultimatum" I have completed 3 models and I am working hard on the 4th and have the 5th on standby...
31 January 2018, 21:08
Łukasz Gliński
Accessories included in the ultimatum?😉
1 February 2018, 07:40
Maciej Bellos
Łukasz, nope!!!
