I'm guessing you're very big into WWII US navy currently?

I think I have a bit of everything. But I like to build models based on the story behind them, so I got motivated to look up which squadrons flew off of Taffy 3 during the Battle of Samar. They were as heroic as the escort ships, conducting dummy torpedo and straffing runs all morning.

Yea I'm the same way, I've been thinking about doing some navy aircraft but am rather inexperienced in that field. Not history wise but building them.

There's definitely some really good kits out there for US Navy aircraft that are nice builds as long as you have enough blue paint for them. I build in 1/48, and have done Tamiya's F4U and two of Eduard's F6F and both are pretty much painless. The Great Wall TBD also turns out great, but there are one or two specific hiccups in the build. There's others too.

If you ever want to get into the Navy side, and you have any sort of questions, feel free to ask. Whether it is about the models or the real world aircraft, anything is fair game. Afterall, that's why I signed up for this site.
