Ready for inspection/trials

This vehicle fascinated me since I've seen a model of it in an early 90's Academy catalogue. While the Tamiya model (and its copies) were pretty bad and hard to get at the same time, when the new TAKOM model hit the shelves I decided to take my shot at it. The vehicle is painted in a MERDEC camo scheme, which I also wanted to do for quite a time. As the real M247 didn't really get far past the trials stage I wanted my model of it to be extra clean, as if prepared for a demonstration for some generals.
The TAKOM kit has excellent kit and was overall a pleasure to build. The hardest part of it are the tracks with 6 parts per link and fully movable, but I have found even this part enjoyable. I decided to build the tracks first, I used the kit supplied track jig which helps a lot, and I also used minimal amounts of thin glue (butyl acetate) applied with a fine brush. This allowed me to have the tracks movable.
