I forgot to mask the canopy before spraying the semi matte varnish. (Maybe there is condensaton on the canopy 🙂
The fit of the kit was also problematic, especially around the cockpit (the kit dates from 1972)

Ben MYou could probably strip it with window cleaner or brake fluid if you pulled it off, but yeah maybe it's condensation. I once sprayed matte varnish on a canopy precisely because I wanted this look for a machine that had been sitting outside at a museum.

Mike ThomasAoshima makes some nice bike kits, too. Hundreds of them, in fact! The ones I have built are definitely on par with Tamiya in terms of quality and detail.

Johan DNBedankt Kim. Ik deel je mening over een 'pinwash'. Bestaat daar trouwens een Nederlands woord voor?
I hesitate about a pinwash. I've done it on a previous model and it tends to get messy. Maybe I give it a try, later on.

Johan DNHi Ben, I started with the build, thinking 'this will be a quick build, because small model and few parts' but it turns out the other way. The kit quality is very good. The fit is good, details are good. What takes time are the resin parts. Position of these parts isn't always clear. All that said, it is fun to build the kit and that's important for me. I hope to post some pictures next week.
