Hi Guys
Here are some photos of my latest build: the Mil Mi-10 'Harke' by A Model, at 1/72 scale. It's a true 'Short Run' kit, difficult to assemble and built. Even though the parts are reasonably detailed and delicate, the fittings are mostly of poor quality. To ensure the adhesion and joints, I used a large quantity of my favorite mixture for this kind of kit: the Cyano - talc powder mixture. It's the only mixture I know of that allows for quick bonding (the presence of talc speeds up the bonding of the cyano glue), is very strong, and can be easily sanded afterward. The most delicate part of the assembly concerns the landing gear: the assembly must remain strong enough to support the entire fuselage and rotor and be perfectly adjusted so that the 4 landing gears and the transport platform touch the ground. Unfortunately, I couldn't avoid the interior of the transparent parts being contaminated by dust or traces of glue. Perhaps I should have worked more on the fuselage's sealing to avoid this... too bad. Overall, this assembly required more than 50 hours of work, including about 5 hours just for the landing gear. I also used a system of metal tubes to easily remove the rotor blades, making it easier to transport the model. The truck model comes from ICM, and is not included in the A Model kit.
This was probably my last A Model kit.
