Definitely want to build this plane someday. Interested to see how this builds for you

It's quite a challenge to get the long fuselage edges lined up without using too much filler on the seam. And whatever you do make sure the wheel wells are FIRMLY secured in the bottom before joining , if they come apart it's a mission to get them back… (guess how I know) 😩

Thanks for the knowledge, I'll keep this in mind when I ever build one of these. Maybe I'll build one of Furball's "what if" options on their new decal set

So the one big issue I found with this model is the scribed panel lines. They are VERY fine and almost disappear under a primer coat. Thank god I won't be needing a wash on this one as it probably wouldn't take.

Calling this one done. It seems everytime I touch it something breaks or smudges, so no more

Thankyou Palo, not a build I'd like to take on again. It seemed as if it were fighting me all the way. But Thankyou for your kind words anyway 👍🏻

Great presentation David. Would you mind sharing where you sourced the hanger background? The paint really came together on your YF-34. Great job on the color.

I have this kit in my stash. I really like your finish, what colors did you use?

Thanks Gerald and DB362.👍🏻 @michael papay Thankyou for the like.
I'm not going to be much help with colours as I custom mix EVERYTHING using Tamiya acrylics. iirc the colour started life as extra dark sea grey that I'd custom mixed for a different project over a black base. Although there will be a bit of blue and probably white added. It will also have had multiple touch up coats with slightly different greys.
I normally study a ton of photos and decide on a shade I like then try to get near it. 😂

DB. If you have this kit. One thing to note is the ceramic tiles in the exhaust area are actually square. On the kit they are quite long rectangles. So if you going to rescribe it's best to do it before assembling the exhausts

Good tip. I do have the kit. I have an aftermarket set of decals for it. If memory serves they included decals for the exhaust area.

If they are the caracal set then the decals are actually for the intakes. I thought they were for the exhaust as well to start.
