The Mirage looks really nice. Very realistic metallic finish and the decals look like painted. 👍👍👍 PS: I'm glad your workbench looks like mine! 😂✌ Best regards from Germany!!!

Thanks S B , "and the decals look like painted." indeed they are, haven't put any decals for now, but it's my technical limit I'll have to go decals for the stencls

😂 You see, I have an eye for painted details. 🙈 The red looks really good. Did you have any issues with applying the colour over the metallic? And what red did you use? It's so shiny and opaque.

The metal base is Xtrem metal AK with 3 shades of aluminum and other alloys. A thin layer of glossy varnish to avoid mixes and grays and blacks in AK real colors, the red is Tamiya I haven't found better at the moment

This looks great Dom. 👍 I pulled this kit out recently and started trimming major pieces and test fitting and it's not as bad as some of the horror stories I've seen online about it. It's not drop-together for sure, but doesn't seem like it will take a huge amount of work to make a go of it. Glad to see your excellent build and inspiring me to get started on mine,

Thanks S B, John : for the moment the nozzle system has been a pain to put in place and I have a few deviations and poor alignment but overall I am quite satisfied, putty is my friend and I won't search for perfection. As you said compared to what we can read I have the impression of benefiting from a more recent batch and a little corrected

Very nice work until now. I'm going to take some of your painting steps for my hobbyboss build🙂

Hi Vincent, I don't know what paints and varnishes you use but do a test beforehand to be sure you don't have any unpleasant surprises, with a Hataka gloss varnish for example, the varnish was a little too "tight" and the Extrm had not liked, but it can also come from drying (room too hot ?)

@Vincent you set out to greatly surpass this result! What's more, your kit is far from simple unlike the Eduard!
@John, thank you very much, I really appreciate it, for the roundel I found it from a local supplier, it's from the English brand "Coastal kit", very well known for motion blurs.
