The Eduard PE really makes a differnce here! This kit was my first n' so far only 1:48 build but I did it OOtB as a KNIL bird. Yours looks so much better than mine do. This will be a blast!

Thanks guys!

Yestersay, after taking the pictures I glued the fuselage together. Now I have to mate the wings with the fuselage and tackle with the long and boring process of puttying and sanding the parts. By chance ( but can I talk of chance, after all it's a Tamiya kit), this tedious job seems to be rather limited.

Now the upper camouflage is painted with Humbrol paints.

Please tell me what you think of the shade, as I am a little confused...

My main source is the Kagero book ont the Buffalo: the paint I used are the equivalent in the Humbrol range of the paint given for the ML-KNIL:
FS 34092 for the medium green. That's H149
FS34087, or olive drab aka KH155

And when I see the colour profil in the book, and compare them to my kit... The shades seem goods for the B-396, but not at all for the B-3110 I want to model: The olive drab is more like a light green..

So where is the mistake?
my paint?
the profile?

The profile I think as it should be green on green as I gather it. But I don't know what's right. I followed Tamiya's paintscheme on mine n' that one is clearly at fault.

Album info

Well, nothing special: Alclad paint for the alumium interior, and Eduard pre-painted photo-etched part for a good looking interior.

After that, it was putty time. The kit needed some, especially under the fuselage, on the junction with the wings.
Followed by a coat of Alclad primer, and 2 of Alclad Aluminium
