the fit is quite good - only the join seams to clean and only a smear of Mr.Surfacer was required. Also if you look at the pics with conning tower fitted, the fit is excellent.

Well actually this is a rebox of Zvezda kit. A guy at the local forum just finished the Zvezda one, and he was complaining about the decals - he told me they shattered as soon as they hit th water. I didn't have any problems with mine, but the slight yellowing which is not apparent once applied to the model. And with the weathering in mind, won't be an issue at all.

well me too, but while researching this subject I came over a photo of grey sub - I guess the remnant of the WW2 sub colour. Supposedly this was the colour she was carrying during her maiden voyage and was painted black after repair work. Check my second blog post for the photo of the real thing.
