Well...somebody turned DC-2 into a bomber in the Spanish Civil War. I don't know if it had a turret or not.
Thirteen light grey sprues and two smallish clear sprues. I think most of the additional detail is in the engines...which probably won't be seen behind those Russian louver covers on the front of the engine cowlings.

Assembly has begun. Lots of flash. Plus...my challenge has been exposed: no register pins. No built-in means of lining up parts. I'll have to create my own tabs. Good thing I have a selection of strip styrene.

It's summer time, and the going is slow. I'm ready to put the fuselage halves together, but it seems I need to mount the waist guns first, which requires drilling out the holes...or not. It now doesn't look nearly as daunting as before. The interior provides a rigid form that helps. I think I'll still place a couple of tabs out of sight.

I just joined the fuselage halves (without tabs). There will be sanding and putty in my future. Pix soon.

Yes, this was placed back in the box and I moved on to other kits.
