Catapulted Arado Ar-196
Original seat vs Aires resin + PE seat
Aires cockpit
Some putty is required to fit correctly the windshield
ready for paint process
A coat of white primer first
some pre-shading
RLM72 with some post-shading
Some maskol is applied randomly than some highly diluted darker tones
I repeat the process with some lighter tones
the result is pretty realistic though we cannot see it very much on the photo
My favorite moment when building a kit : weathering
The engine is set and exhaust fume done
I tried to replicate some salt and rust effects on the floaters using AK Interactive products

Cockpit is now finished. Always a little bit tricky to get all those Aires resin parts inside the two half of the fuselage, but after many dry test fits, it finally ok.

I used some old Aeromaster paints that I had. I started by a pre shading with RLM 66 and then a coat of RLM 02.

Great cockpit. I'm loving float planes at the moment especially the ones from the 20's and 30's, beautiful.

The Arado is almost done. Now I will switch to the HPH catapult.

Thanks you guys, it was not so easy to adjust the airplane on the catapult. You have to be very precise
