Yes, it is. Although I wish I had done a better job on the fusalage stripe size. Gary

I'm confused by the whole future/pledge floor polish/wax thing and the fact that you've applied the decals after the future was applied ?!?
Clearly you know what you are doing as the results speak for themselves, I've looked through the tips section and can't find about it so I thought I might ask 🙂
The proper application of decals has eluded me, especially hiding the excess varnish on them and getting them to blend in with the rest of the paint work, plus protecting them afterwards so the model can withstand handling, any pointers here hugely appreciated 🙂
Great looking model btw !!

Hi Choppa, The future provides a nice smooth surface for the decals to adhere to. Then I overcoat another layer to help blend in and protect the decals. I don,t use lacqure clear coats much as the yellow over time. THANKS Gary

Cheers Gary, I have since discovered what the whole thing about future is now after much searching and is something I will definitely use 🙂
I've even found the UK equivalent, Pledge Klear.
I've always wondered why my decals never looked as good as the pros and now I know, that and the use of a decal softener. I am really glad I have joined this forum, I've learned a lot in a short time, hopefully it will show in my next models 🙂

Album info
This is Acadamy's F-86F in 1/48th scale. I airbrushed Testors silver which was buffed with a paper napkin. Future was applied as a final coat before the decals. The fit was good and built in conjuntion with Tamiya's Mig-15 bis. Thanks for looking. Gary
