Mi-24 Hind
Commentaires
Thanks for all the kind words! One of these days I really need to take some pictures with a real camera...unfortunately that is the part of model building I really slack at. This one was completed last year and I don't even think it is the oldest one I only have cell phone pics of.
Album info
This Mi-24P Hind from the Ukrainian Army's 335 OBVP (Independent Combat Helicopter Regiment) was based at Kalinov Air Base near Lviv in western Ukraine in the mid-90's.
The conversion to the cannon armed Hind-F was done using the excellent Cobra Company set. The weapons, IR jammer, flare launchers, and exhausts are likewise from Cobra sets. The exhaust is creative license on my part. They aren't normally fitted since they are a big performance drain, but it was easier to fit them then to try to modify the exhausts to the Hind-P standard. There are photos of Ukrainian Hinds operating for the UN in Africa with them so they would almost certainly be fitted in a combat situation.
The Linden Hill decals are great. The paints are AKAN and they are superb. Goes on very thin (I brush paint everything) and is very opaque.
