Thanks. Lots of details that don't really show unfortunately. It is a level 3 skill kit. It took me a day to build the compressor, a day to build the gas pumps with fluorescent light tubes & spot lights for the building front, a day to make all the oil cans and glue the decals on them, and a day to build and paint the oil drum with the dual pump and hoses. So I could use the phrase "more than meets the eye."

I will be adding the AMT 1/25 scale 1950 Chevrolet 3100 pickup with Texaco appeal. With optional parts, like the "push bumper" and roof/fender flasher lights. Thanks for noticing the details and my hard work.

Me too Christian. I remember having a Texaco station as a boy. I guess that was one of the many reasons I had for wanting to build this one. It is kind of weird having everything generic and in the red and green colors.

Just added a work bench with hand tools and a desk and office chair for the front office. I am looking forward to building additional furniture, parts boxes, accessories, and a 1950 pickup truck with push bar!

Curtis - are you referring to the large metal Texaco gas station that came with some fairly juvenile looking snap together toy vehicles? It had an open rear and there were small plastic covered bolts that were used to connect everything?

Thank you for your response, I did find the metal contraption you described as well as a Franklin Mint edition. Texaco, Sinclair, Sohio, etc were the brands I grew up with. I wish I had that Buddy L station. The lift was hinged and you could lift your favorite car into the air. Thanks to you I searched and searched until I found those pictures. Ah what memories are made of! Hope you can find time to start building and not waiting for some far off time to begin. I am grateful for my new (renewed) interest in scale modeling and enjoy this website as an outlet for my many projects (52 in 52 weeks). That is what forced retirement does to you! LOL

Yes, I have thought about amps but I think we lost our vancouver charter, anyway yes I am starting to slowly while away at the ol stash :/ ! I also used to collect toys and diecast and still pick up the odd thing. .currently I am forced to store my collectibles at a storage locker. I have approx 10,000 diecast pieces as well as some pretty nice vintage tonka and buddy l. My 2 fave toys in the 70's were my buddy L schoolbus and Tonka "rescue" cherokee chief - I remember that Christmas like it was yesterday. I have one model to pick up tomorrow, the revell '55 jukebox chevy. Apart from some accessories I wont be buying anymore kits...i have too many already. . : \ Enjoy the hols my friend! 🙂
