Revell B-24D Liberator
boxart
decals
parts washed & drying
interior detail....not bad
lots of bombs!!
and the rest
pretty wimpy detail on the engines, but you don't see much of them
decent detain in the wheel wells
...and a full crew!
the tractor (i didn't build it)
tons of glass, definitly need a mask set for this one!
the crew
Dang! I swear there's enough scrap to make another plane!
1st issue, something is warped somewhere. I glued up all the rest and let it dry overnight.....
...then used these giant STRONG clamps!
2nd issue...pretty poor alignment there, not much I can do to fix that
the rest was fine. If I was a true "modeler" I could have scratch built a repair....
the other wing was fine
pretty weak detailed engines!
I need to mix some "chromate green"
the small spot on the top right, is what i want to match. that's vallejo"s zinc chromate, the lower left spot is pretty close, just a bit lighter. the middle row are colors i'm working with
the recipe i found on the net somewhere
I'll be happy with that!....
looks ok to me
had trouble with the clamps slipping off the wings....
...so i made up a bunch of "non skid" cloths pins!
windows masked, props & wheels painted...
all the glass painted...
all the pieces painted. It's just too big for me to paint all together.
and the crew painted!
interior in place...
and the bombs..
de-icers painted on, all gloss coated ready for .....
....the decals
that's a heck of a lump they expect you to get the decal over!!
the tail de-icers
decals all on and....
all flat coated
cotton balls to help protect the guns
landing gear on
getting the glass on
well... I made the mistake of putting on the "wash" AFTER the flat coat. What was i thinking????!! but once i started i had to keep going!
couldn't get that front to line up any better than that...sad.
but it doesn't look so bad i guess
she's ready to "FLY"
