The PP.E. panel is far too flat.It doesn't fit to the kit's one.Better cut it and re-position the single parts on a new , scratch built plasticard support!

I used the part previously cut from the kit and some additional detail from plasticard and various rods, to re-build the cockpit front section.

Test to see how things fit together.Added the backplate from a Neomega cockpit being used on another project, as the first attempt to add detail n this area ended up not really as I wanted it.

While checking the cockpit area, I realized the windshield didn't pair the fuselage shape, thus St.Plasticard came to help!!! Iadded two bits at the sides.

two strips of plasticard were added and filed down to give the wind screen's the correct shape to match the fuselage.

Having to represent the aircraft while taking off, the intakes will be open(no FOD covers!) thus I made recreated the intake ducts with plasticard.

This is the my view of the engines front , to be painted black , dry-brushed and glued at the end of the ducts...nothing will be seen at the end!!!

From the pictures I've seen, the deep section of the intakes ducts are fiberglass and to represent this colour I painted the them black , oversprayed with zink chromate yellow.I'm sure nobody will see a thing, at the end!!!

It was now time for the intakes to be glued to the fuselage halves, not before having painted the inside Desert Pink.I've used Xtracrilic smoothered with the dedicated thinner.It was the first time I used this thinner and was very happy with it.

The intakes ' fit is a bit...approximate, so I used some cianoacrylate glue as a filler. I also glued the cannons' section and ...some more cianoacrylate was needed!!!

Thank you guys! The last ones of the cockpit painted aren't so good, but the flash didnt help! Soon I'll post some more pictures of the landing gears pit.

Yes, the intakes are awful on this kit. It took me a lot of sanding and filling to get them OK. Also, LifeColor makes the desert pink color so you don't have to try mixing your own.

I'm using Xtracrilix Desert Pink , by Hannants. They have a full range of colors for british aircraft and I find them very accurate.Thanks for the suggestion anyway!

Geoff, its not a great kit. I did this one as well. Just be prepared for some ill fitting parts. And 100% get the Masters nose pitot. The kit one is grossly out of scale.

Geoff, I havent done the KH, but Id say that one. The KH kits I have done are NOT as horrid as people say they are. IF you can find one for a reasonable price.

I built the KH Jag, and it went together well and turned out really nice. I also built the Heller one, and have the old ESCI kit. It has raised panel lines so I will have to re-scribe it.

Album info

This Jaguar will be positioned on a stand ,in a simulation of takeoff, with the landing gears partially retracted.I like to represent my models in a dynamic scenario.
It'll will be painted desert pink as I intend to represent it in a fully armed configuration and to give it a light finish, which will highlight the landing gear's bays and detail.
...fingers crossed!!!
