When I was a kid, living in China Lake, I remember an F 86 junk yard and wondering how they could just toss history aside like surplus refrigerators. Glad to see one being resurrected.

@Joshua, what do you mean with trouble? Did the decal not fit well or did it not adhere? Or didn't it conform to the details on the airbrakes?
@bossy122, as much as we are enthusiastically about keeping these icons well preserved and as much as we hope 'the professionals' keep aircraft as pristine as we have them in our minds, that sadly isn't the reality and to most operators this is just 'hardware'. I used to work with helicopters and during an exercise I had a person come up to me asking about taking pictures while we were training field landings and operations. I told him to stay outside our perimeter and only take pictures of them being airborne. No persons, hardware or anything else while we were working. That's when/were I noticed my internal modeler couldn't care less about those amazing modeling subjects, I was just concerned about the progress of our training and the safety of everybody involved. Afterwards I thought that before joining, I would be that enthousiast wanting to take those pictures. 😉

Album info

I visited the Topeka Kansas Combat Air Museum and made a bunch of picture of exhibits that interested me. Poor selfish me... But still, I want to share them with you. This won't be my only visit. I don't know when I will revisit Topeka but please let me know about any particular pictures you wish.
