@Joe: maybe a tip: I discovered (after painting this one ;-( ) that Ammo.Mig has a washable white paint for winter camo. Maybe an idea?

I'm not an armour expert, currently I'm working on a soviet operated WW2 aircraft with winter camo. I'm planning to use white acrylic and "washable agent" from AK. We'll see the result.
