Picked this one from the shelf of doom to finally finish (I hope). Don't know why I put it on the shelf of doom honestly...

Going to make it as a diorama. The Myoko will be moored nextto some sort of Island/land mass. A water freighter (small vessel) and fuel tanker (larger vessel) will also be in the diorama. Now i'm drawing a plan...
This will be the first water and 1/700 diorama I'm going to make. Hopefully everything will go well!

Started work on the mountain. Also got myself a new phone. Hopefully that improves the photo quality!

Very interesting project Rick. I don't know how it could have been on the "shelf of doom" either. Maybe you had a problem to solve that had become a monster? Now forgotten about??? Keep working on it anyway, I am very interested in it now!

Welcome aboard guys!
@Peter, That could be it. Though i haven't had a look at the Myoko for now, so I still don't know yet.
I started off with the Water Carrier. It is very basic and I can't find PE for this. I decided to upgrade it a bit myself. Though i can't find pictures of this vessel i try to make it as nice as possible.
Drilled out the chimney. Added some doors to the forward superstructure. Also decided to scratch build the bridge as the part for that in the kit is just a block of plastic.

Thanks Bart! I saw and read the whole article of Marijns Amagi. It looks insane! One of my insperations, even saved it as my favorite so i can find it fast 🙂
I also know Hyun Soo Kim's work. Amazing artist, just like Won-Hui lee! Both of them make amazing models and diorama's! Though i missed that project you just shared. Lovely! I'm not even near that level, what a work that must be... absolutly insane!

The mountain is ready to be painted i think. Bht before painting it will be fixed to base and made to blend in.
The Water Carrier had some minor touch ups. Only havr to figure out hoe to make a flag pole on the back side.
Started work on the Fuel Carrier as well. This should get an scratchbuild bridge as well.

All the plasic parts for the bridge are ready for the Myoko (still dryfit for easy painting). Now working out where railing has to be added even as ladders or stairs.

Most parts that can be assembled beforehand are done. I'll start painting those soon. The hull as well, but before I can paint the hull I'll need to change the molded stairs and doors to PE ones. That will be done tonight or tomorrow, after which I start painting (brushpainting as I'm not convinced in spraying the tamiya paints which I'm going to use)

Started working on the base. Used 8 different paints. Next up would be the vegetation.

Thanks mates! Yeah, it will take a while! Very busy with university and work ( and social life with friends). I'm not as fast as most of the people here, but I try my best 🙂
These comments give me extra motivation 🙂

beautiful groundwork... take your time, we're not in a hurry, and then we have maybe some time to build something for our own 😉

After a busy 2 weeks finally got some more work done on Myoko. The torpedo room (there are many torps there, imagine the destruction they could do!). Also got the harbour auxilary vessel upgrade set from fivestar to finish the oil transporter (first time on evilbay, should do it more often for these nessesary items).

Rick - What a great idea. I've never built a ship, or a diorama, so I am really impressed. I'll be following along to see how this goes. Keep up the good work!

@steve Thanks! This will be my 1st 1/700 diorama so i'm quite nervous, but I'll try my best!
@Peter yeah! It should become quite lively!
Started with the Fivestar PE. Lovely stuff, really easy. But those Little railings didn't quite got on nicely so they bended a little. Hopefully i can still fix that...

The oil transporter is done, now ready for painting. The crane will get a hook when i'll start with her rigging.

I just purchased my first set of add on PE for an F/A-18E. Never messed with it before. I bought a magnifying headstrap to be able to see what I'm doing! So, all the PE you are tackling.... Good Luck bro!
