Bill, do you watch the TV show Graveyard carz?
They do some good work

Nigel, Thanks. Wilky, yes I do. Their shop is about an hour down the road from where I live.

That Mark is a bit of a nutter but I love his passion.
I'm a Ford guy myself but I have always wanted a '69 Charger because of the Dukes of Hazzard and really appreciate the quality of cars that they produce and a lot of the Mopar cars look great.
Living in Australia I've never had the chance to get a Charger.
We have our own version of a Charger but they are no General Lee

When I was in grade school my Mom was dating a guy in the Air Force and he had a 69 Charger "White Hat" version. It was dark metallic blue with a white vinyl top and a 440 4bbl. On the way home from a day at the river he took us up to 120mph. WooHoo! My Mom didn't like it but my siblings and I egged him on. I also had a friend in high school that had a black 69 Charger with red stripes down the side. This would have been around 1977-78. It was pretty beat on and was the first time I learned about left hand threads on the wheels.

It's hard to do those high speeds these days.
The cars will do it easily but not getting caught is the problem

That's very nice, hockey stripes and AAR stripes are so much nicer than billboards, they are just too big & blocky for me, although white ones tend to look ok, especially on B5 blue.
The stance is spot on, you got that just perfect!
Front end looks good, did you have to do work?

I agree on the billboard decals. It is just TOO much. I did attempt them because that is what a '71 is SUPPOSED to have. Read the description for info about the hockey stick decals and the grille.

I love Hemi Cudas, my dream car. Could never afford the gas for it in Germany though

One of my dream cars too. If I won the lottery I would buy/build one of these.

Album info

This model I am very proud of. I absolutely love the Sub-Lime green paint. It says MOPAR, all the way. The rims are from the kit but I used the 5-holers, intended for the rear, on the front. I widened the rear rims by sanding out the centers of a set of ConvoPros and adding them to the original front rims to make them deep dish. I actually had to narrow the rear tires slightly to get them to fit in the quarter panels. What I like the most is I nailed the stance perfectly.

The grille was meticulously hand painted and this is the second model I have ever BMF’d. For the sides, I tried using the black, Hemi “billboard” decals from the kit which are correct for 1971, but I did not like them the minute they were laid. Instead I had Keith Marks make me up a set of 1/24th 1970 “hockey stick” stripes which I think looks a whole lot better. The interior was painted semi-gloss by spraying Testors Glosscoat over Testors flat black. I duplicates the texture and sheen of vinyl.
