Rat look Toyota Chaaser
Front wing damage achieved with a modelling knife and lighter. Rust damage on wings achieved by filing out the inner edge so it's paper thin then use the knife point to 'stab' the area breaking through to the outer edge
Grey primer applied first then red
Ford Europe Stone Beige top coat lighly sanded to reveal the primer underneath
Humbrol red/brown used to paint any areas showing white plastic after sanding too hard, however the rat look is coming along
Rear wing sticker 'bombed' using decals from two joblots off ebay. Large ones were used first then smaller ones over top and built up
the rust damage now becomes more apparent on the front wing. Bare metal foil used for the Window frames
Iso propyl alcohol was dabbed on with a small paint brush then Real rust from broken down wire wool applied to the body. Once dry Humbrol semi-gloss varnish was applied to seal the body
close up of the rust effect on front wing
Close up of the rust effect on door - Despite sifting my rust using a tea strainer, some particles are still a little large
chassis also given the rust treatment
Tweaked interior now features Auslow CB radio with kit ICE
90% complete. I wasn't sure about the larger wheels at the rear, but they look great
So far so good
Final decals applied tonight, a combination of recently purchased Slixx decals and from the joblot
rear view final decals applied
Finished !!
Decals really set it off
Most fiddly job was trying to fix the wipers
Auslowe antennas look the business - Exactly what I was looking for

Yes no idea why - so there was one amp, graphic equaliser, what looks like a CD and 2 head units. All had positions on the instructions

Nice work Nigel! I love the mag wheels, they look like Radir Rockets, floorpan detailing up to your usual top draw standards too. A pleasure to look at 😉

Glad you like it Dominik. This was my first all over attempt and an excellent starting point to improve the process.

A chance to build something in right had drive that was (I think) available in the UK.
Plus it allowed me get my creative juices flowing and develop some new skills and techniques.
