I was going to build this Pig on the tarmac with flaps & slats down and radar, avionics bays open... Then I got the idea of building her in flight doing her famous Dump & Burn. Now the electric spaghettis is basically worked out I can now move forward.🙂

Not the best pics, but at least now the cotton wool is in position, now time to paint it and really bring the heat.

Painting of the flame is done, the tricky part will be to make the wires fit through the back of the fuselage then down through the support stand and onto the base, which I'm still thinking about. Although I do have a couple of really cool ideas to go with.🤔

Thank you Lode, I couldn't do something simple now could I, but wait till you see the base and what I have in store for that. I ordered the foundation of eBay today so I should have that by mid next week.🙂

Hey, now that all the main wiring I in place I can now get back on track to completing the main build. Tonight I'll glue the top of the fuselage to the lower fuselage, and maybe even get the forward section on before putting the capsule in place.😄

The D&B section looks awesome! Does this mean you have to work through all subsequent steps with the flames of hell attached? Must make for a model almost the size of the 48-scale B-1... Looking forward to see the next steps of this valiant effort😉

Thanks Slavo for your pleasant words of encouragement. Yes he flames of hell are there for eternity, Unfortunatly when I got up this morning to do some more construction work on her I have found out that the left slat is lost, and with that went my desire to keep going. I looked for the part for what seemed like a life time but to no avail.
I even moved my man cave around and still come up trumps, so for now the Pig sits out in her pen, waiting till I find the slat. I could fill the leading edge in with Milliput and shape a new slat, but at the moment I think I need to finish another model first.🙁🙁🙁

May I suggest to look for another part you lost earlier? Bet you won't find that one, but maybe the slat 😉
Most of us know what becomes of kits put on hold for a reason... these seem to keep sitting on the shelf of doom till ...

Oh, that´s really a spell of misfortune cast over such a promising and unique project & group build member... 🙁
There apparently is a whole wing set:
scalemates.com/kits/..ps-slats-set--146477
- but if the price is really 100$, that´s 2 full Varks worth of money... cannot work out the point in that...
I understand the initial frustration, smaller setbacks than a full slat gone missing have similar impact on me as well... Personally, I would suspect the Heinkel crew had their fingers in this... Maybe giving some attention to the Greif will lead to unraveling the mystery... In any case, good luck with whatever course you take!

Maybe a friendly letter to the kit manufacturer for a replacement might help ?

That stinks Michael, I hate it when the carpet monster eats parts.

Thanks for all your sympathy fellas. Slavo I have that wing set from Oz Mods and the slat to fit the existing wing is slightly longer. I might just trim it down to make it fit, but I'll put my thoughts elsewhere for now and hopefully it will turn up. Last day or so I've been moving my man cave around so my partner Tammy can start building by my side at my work bench. Also going to bring in my paint booth so I can air brush inside instead of out in the cold, dark garage.

Alright Guys & Girls now the Bf 109F4 Trop is behind me and I now have her out of my system it's time to get cracking on this beast again. Now where is that Oz Mods leading edge slat?🤔

Cancelling this project and it felt so good smashing it up it into pieces, what a relief and weight of my shoulders. Now time to build something that I feel like doing and not something I feel pressured to because I wanted to be apart of the GB. Now I have a box of pieces for the spares box and a heap of weapons as well.😄😄😄

This has really been a rollercoaster of higs and lows - sad we'll not see the D&B, but happy for you to have "broken free"😉 Whatever's next, happy to follow! Now this has gone it's somewhat tragic path, maybe a good time to talk about the lovely angry pig tail decoration decals? 😄 😄
