This particular Bf 109G-4/R6 W Nr.14997 was flown by Eric Hartmann when he was with 7./JG 52, May, 1943, on the Eastern Front. While he was on leave, Uffz Herbert Meissler was on a sortie and crash landed her behind Russian lines and was taken prisoner.
