Standard Canadian Amed Forces SAR livery. I'm doing up the float version of the Twin Otter (being as how I live on the West Coast). I originally built this in the land plane version back in the '80s when Matchbox first released this kit. You can tell this is the original Matchbox mold, because the parts sprues are square in cross-section (a very Matchboxy thing!...)

Minor screw up. I decided t o paint the red band on the fuselage, to keep the colour consistent with the wing tips.. I carefully measured the band on one of the reference photos before basking and painting the band - it came out beutifully! - that is, until I strted decalling. Turns out, my reference photo is not consistent with the modeleres decal positioning. Argggh! I had to carefully remove one of the decals (port side, rear); mask and paint over the band. I decided at this point to use the kit supplied decals for the band. Photos uploaded..

I had a similar problem in my project (it was my first kit after decades) - spaces between upper and lower stripes were different on both sides 🙁 You solved a problem very good - waiting for continuation 🙂

Decalling issue fixed; a couple of coats of clear gloss; now time to assemble. Wings attaached; fins attached to hor. stabs and stabs attched to body. Put it aside for glue to set before I start attaching floats. More pics uploaded.
Interesting, those vertical fins on the hor. stabs. Obviously, the float version of the Twin Otter needs a bit more directional stability; I notice they're not on the land plane version.
