OOB build of the vintage '89 Hobbycraft 1/48 kit.

Pretty basic cockpit and engine detail - just concentrated on painting as cleanly as possible.

Post shading and stripes.

Post shading and painting the white of a roundel. Applied decal over the top of the stripes. Not thinking about how the black would show through the aged Hobbycraft decals!

Panel line wash and detailing.

Panel wash and dirty-up completed using only Vallejo and watercolour paints. No Tamiya stuff or oils available at this stage, so obviously had to ensure I was getting it somewhat right, as I couldn't wipe it off afterwards.

But bought some by now... Adding Humbrol Blue/Grey panel wash. It's a bit 'heavy' this stuff!

Hobbycraft tried hard to get some detail happening in their kits, and your rendition has done that attempt a great result in showing just how much 'grunt' these sea fury birds had. 👍

I tried building the Hobbycraft DO-17, gave up and almost threw it across the room. Nothing fit right and the landing gear was virtually impossible (for my abilities). I replaced all the Hobbycraft kits in my collection with newer ones. Hats off to you bro! Wonderful job!
