Album info

Old kit of BT-7 1937 1/72, from UM (UniModels). Despite the fact that UM has recently updated it's line of BT tanks, in which many of the shortcomings have been leveled, I had an old copy lying on my shelf, and therefore I had to finish it. The native imitation of the air intakes was cut off, because it was given simply by a swollen, plastic monolith. Instead, I made a normal intake boxes out of beer can tin and glued in a PE mesh, added reinforcing pads on the hull and turret, the same tin (special thanks to Tuborg for the material provided), pushed a "rivet" on the side pads with a needle. The gun mask is incorrect, but I didn't alter it, instead I drilled out the viewing slots, made an imitation of riveting on the tower by drilling, made armored plugs for pistol ports, fasteners for installing battle light lanterns (ELF). Coloring - primer, one layer of a mixture of flatblack and rotbrown (metal), a layer of Chipping Fluid from Ammo, several layers of base 4BO with modulation, and finally stripping it to "metal". All paints are from the AK Real Color series. Two filters with oil paints on zippo gasoline - ocher and umber, oil dots, wash. The last stage is manual drawing with a brush of rust on the hull and turret and rubbing some details with graphite.

I have to say right away that weathering and chipping isn't very realistic, I invested more in the artistic component - I wanted to show the vehicle battered and dented, but still capable of "kicking a couple of asses")
